Introducing WPBakery Excerpt Talks: Where WordPress Business Meets Opportunity

Let’s face it – while WordPress powers over 40% of the web, conversations about the business side of the ecosystem often take a backseat to technical discussions. That’s why we’re excited to launch Excerpt Talks, a new interview series where we sit down with experts from the WordPress community and beyond to talk partnerships, collaborations, and revenue growth strategies. Hence the series tagline: “To Connect, Collaborate, and Create.”

How Excerpt Talks Was Born

The seed for this series was planted at WordCamp Europe, where our Head of Product, Raitis Sevelis, noticed a shift in conversations. Unlike previous years where technical topics dominated, agency owners and WordPress product businesses were increasingly focused on revenue generation and business growth strategies.

This observation highlighted a gap in our community’s content landscape. While there’s no shortage of excellent technical resources, business-focused discussions remain relatively rare in our dev-heavy ecosystem.

What the Excerpt Talks… talk about

Each episode features in-depth conversations with WordPress business owners, team members, or professionals from related tech companies and SaaS providers. We explore how they help WordPress ecosystem participants generate more revenue through collaborations and partner programs.

A highlight of each interview is our “Win-Win Economics” segment. Here, we work through real scenarios showing potential partner gains – breaking down the numbers and exploring concrete strategies to achieve meaningful business growth.

Why This Matters Now

The WordPress ecosystem has evolved significantly in recent years. While coding and development remain central, there’s growing recognition of the need for solid business practices. This shift comes at a critical time, as economic challenges make revenue growth more urgent than ever for WordPress businesses.

Think of Excerpt Talks as educational content focused on the business side of WordPress – whether you run a plugin business, theme shop, or agency. Our goal is to share practical insights that can help you navigate partnerships and find new growth opportunities.
