WordCamp Kolhapur 2026 recap

How can one describe WordCamp Kolhapur 2026 in a nutshell? It was an event about community, learning and the next generation of WordPress!

WordCamp Kolhapur 2026 was the second edition as a two-day event that focused strongly on learning, collaboration and growing the local WordPress community. The first day was dedicated to a Student Workshop and a Photowalk, while the second day brought the main conference with two parallel tracks.

What immediately stood out was the number of students attending – curious, engaged and genuinely interested in WordPress, its products and the open-source ecosystem behind it. We were particularly happy about it, given our own bigger involvement into education and mentoring through WP Credits program.

Why we were there

Simply put, we wanted to be present, share knowledge and connect with the local community – as this was the first WordCamp in India that WPBakery sponsored. Rohan Khandeparkar, our Support Team lead, attended the event to represent the brand and speak, as well as exchange ideas and strengthen ties with users and contributors.

And, rather than focusing on promotion, our intention was to listen, learn and be part of the conversations already happening within the APAC community.

Student Workshop Day

The first-day workshop, organized by Nagesh Pai and Uday Ghule, was hands-on and practical. Students signed up to work on building an eCommerce website using WordPress, which helped them gain real experience in setting up and structuring an online store. For many students, this was their first deeper exposure to WordPress beyond basic use. They really learned by doing the actual work – instead of listening to abstract theory.

WordCamp Kolhapur 2026 Conference day

The conference day featured two parallel tracks: a Beginner track, largely attended by students and newcomers and a Pro track, for more experienced WordPress professionals. There were talks for everyone – from absolute beginners to people who’ve been building with WordPress for a while – and you could tell right away that the organizers wanted to make sure no one felt left out. People weren’t just listening, they were chatting between sessions, swapping notes and asking speakers practical questions after their talks.

Rohan’s session took place in the Pro track and marked his first-ever WordCamp talk, to which we are very proud of. He shared his experience and knowledge of working in support with WPBakery for over 12 years, a topic that is so welcomed and needed in this space. And not to sound like we’re bragging (just stating the obvious!), his talk sparked more than a few follow-up discussions among attendees, as well as requests for more details and collabs – which is always a good sign!

One particularly memorable session was “The Remote WordPress Worker’s Playbook: Focus, Family, and Finding Balance” by Prathamesh Pavle. With many attendees already working remotely, the talk offered a refreshing and relatable perspective on managing long-term remote work that we all can benefit from. And if you are eager to learn from these talks, make sure to keep an eye on wordpress.tv and see when the recordings will be live.

Final thoughts

What we took as the biggest takeaway, WordCamp Kolhapur 2026 felt welcoming, energetic and driven by genuine interest in learning and growth. What stood out the most to Rohan, was the enthusiasm from students, who were curious, motivated and eager to be part of the WordPress ecosystem.

Big kudos go to the organizers and volunteers who made the event happen and look forward to seeing so many faces soon during the upcoming WordCamp Asia!
