New Icons and Add Element Window Facelift
Following the recent introduction of the most-used elements, we’ve followed up with a complete element icon redesign in WPBakery 8.0. The new icons give the editor a clean, modern look while keeping things the way you like them – simple and easy to use.
This also doesn’t change how you work – it just makes everything visually clearer and more organized. You’ll still be able to find and add your favorite elements using the search bar, categories, or most-used elements in the Add Element window. And, over time, it’ll feel like second nature, making your workflow even faster and smoother than before.
Custom Fonts: Google Fonts Sync & Adobe Typekit
One of the most exciting features of WPBakery 8.0 is the ability to upload custom fonts to your WordPress site. While WPBakery already comes with hundreds of Google Fonts to choose from, now you can manually sync the latest Google Fonts to your site anytime new ones are available.
For those who want even more fonts to choose from, we’ve integrated Adobe Typekit. Adobe Typekit gives you access to thousands of premium fonts from some of the world’s best type foundries, including Adobe Originals, FontFont, and Monotype, just to name a few.
Note: If you don’t want to sync all Google Fonts to your WordPress, you can choose only the ones you need and upload them through Adobe Typekit ID, in the WPBakery Page Builder Settings.
Row Titles in the Backend Editor
WPBakery 8.0 also introduces the ability to add titles to rows in the backend editor. This feature, suggested by one of our users, makes it easier to identify and organize rows, especially in complex layouts, when working in teams, or with rows that contain only code for example.
This feature will help you stay organized and efficient, especially if you prefer working in the backend editor.
New Copyright Element
We’ve also introduced a new Copyright Element that automatically updates the year for you. No more manually editing your copyright year every January, or realizing it’s outdated months later – just set it up once and you’re done.
Additionally, you are also able to align the copyright text to the left, center, or right, depending on your design preferences.
Drag and Drop Images from Your Desktop
Uploading images now will also be easier! With WPBakery 8.0, you can now drag and drop images straight from your desktop into the editor. No more going through the manual upload process – just drag, drop, and you’re done.
How it works is whenever you want to add an image to a page or post, you can simply drag it from your desktop into the Single Image or Image Gallery elements (if you want to upload multiple images). The images will automatically be uploaded to your WordPress media library as well – fast and easy.
Responsiveness Improvements
We’ve made responsive design controls in WPBakery more intuitive and added more flexibility options. This makes it easier to adjust your site’s layout for different screen sizes.
Color Picker Improvements
Following the release of the new color picker in WPBakery 7.9, we’ve added a much-requested ‘Clear’ button to make it easier to reset colors when needed. Now you have even more control over your design with the ability to quickly clear and reset colors.
What’s Next?
There you have it – WPBakery 8.0 is packed with exciting new features designed to make your web development and design process even easier, and this is just the beginning! We’re already working on adding more features – all based on your feedback.
