WPBakery 8.3: API for AI Integration, New Google Maps Element, and Font Awesome 6 Icons
We’re excited to announce the release of WPBakery 8.3. This update brings improvements that will help you work faster and more flexibly. You can now integrate WPBakery AI into your custom elements, use the latest Font Awesome icons in your designs, and add Google Maps to your site more easily.
New features in WPBakery 8.3:
- New Google Maps Element
- Font Awesome 6 Icons
- API for WPBakery AI Integration
- Preview Button in the Page Settings
New Google Maps Element
Up until the release of WPBakery 8.3, adding a Google Map to your site required manually copying and pasting an embed code. Now, you can simply enter a location, and the map will be displayed instantly. Additionally, you can now also adjust the zoom level and map type (default, satellite, hybrid) from the element settings.
To add a Google Map to your site using WPBakery:
- Open the editor and click on ‘Add Element’
- Select the ‘Google Maps’ element
- Enter the location
- Adjust settings like zoom and map type as needed
- Save changes (if auto-save is not enabled) and you’re set
Note: The new Google Maps element has replaced the previous version starting from WPBakery 8.3. The older version can now be found in the ‘Deprecated’ tab of the element library.
Font Awesome 6 Icons
WPBakery 8.3 also adds support for Font Awesome 6, with full backward compatibility for Font Awesome 5. This means you can now use over 10,300 of the latest Font Awesome icons, in addition to other icon libraries available in the Icon element.
API for WPBakery AI Integration
If you’re a theme author, addon developer, or web developer working with WPBakery, you can now add AI-powered content generation to your custom elements. The API allows you to:
- Adjust AI-generated content by modifying the Length, Tone of Voice, and Content Type dropdowns for specific element parameters
- Control how different element parameters are processed by the WPBakery AI API
- Choose which text fields display the AI icon
Note: Currently, we support the following content types: ‘New content’, ‘Improve existing’, and ‘Translate’.

Preview Button in the Page Settings
Last but not least, we’ve introduced a new Preview button in the Page Settings in WPBakery 8.3.
In WPBakery 8.1, we replaced the Save Changes button with Update for a more consistent user experience. However, we listened to community feedback and recognized the need for a smoother workflow. That’s why now, you can quickly preview changes made in the Page Settings before updating the page. This helps ensure everything works and functions properly everything before you hit Update.
Afterwords
There you have it. With the release of WPBakery 8.3, you can now add AI fields to custom elements, insert maps without the extra steps, and use the latest icons directly in the editor. Plus, you can preview your changes in the Page Settings before pushing them live.
Also, a big thank you to everyone who participated in testing the 8.3 beta and shared their feedback. If you’re interested in being part of future beta tests, you can find more information here.
